MY STORY
Natalie Moloney, BCom(HRM), GradCertCarDev
Do you believe in serendipity? I do. It was a chance conversation I had with another mother at my daughter's school about her challenges with the prospect of returning to work after a lengthy career break that gave me my light bulb moment (aha!). As she was describing her fears, barriers and mindset to me, I instantly knew I could help her, and many other people like her. I felt the passion for this mission fill up inside of me. It just felt so right. From that day forward I started making plans and achieving my goals on the path to launching At the Helm Career Services, which I officially launched in early 2021.
My background had predominantly been in Human Resource Management (HRM) roles across varying industries prior to becoming a qualified Career Practitioner. Helping others plan and achieve their career development goals, supporting others to thrive at work, and improving employee engagement, have provided me with the most job satisfaction throughout my career. I have had valuable experience as a recruiter while working in HRM for many years, and understand what it takes to engage in a successful employment search campaign. I also have a passion for training facilitation, as I love to help others grow.
I am a proud product of the Gold Coast, and love to be able to live and work where I have spent much of my life - in the beautiful Burleigh Heads area. While the Gold Coast is my home and location of my business, I consult with clients and organisations both locally and nationally.
MY APPROACH
What you can expect from me.
Our career path is a journey in itself, and a very important part of our life journey. Our changing life roles have a major impact on our career decisions, particularly for women. Our interests and values can change over time, which also impacts our career path.
My goal is simple - to provide effective support to help you navigate your personal career journey. I have designed my services to provide you with career management skills required to set you on the right path to achieving your career goals. I fully understand the challenges that may be faced when returning to work after a career break. This has been a strong focus for the design of the 'Parental Leave Career Transition Program' and 'Career Returners Workshop'. My workshops aim to empower you to understand and value your self worth by increasing your self awareness, boost your employability skills and provide you with the tools and knowledge to set yourself up for success.
What sets me apart?
I care. I really care. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than helping others to become the happiest and most fulfilled version of themselves, and our careers play an important role in this. I am a qualified career practitioner, a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia, and you can always expect a professional approach to my services.
I think what really sets me apart though, is my lived experience. If you are returning to work after a career break, I've been through it. If you are dealing with an unexpected career transition, so have I. If your values and priorities have changed over time, I understand how you feel. With experience brings special knowledge, and what I have gained through life and work experience, my studies and research, are a set of skills and expertise to provide you with the support you need.
